Panda's Story

Last Summer a white/black cat was brought to us as she was living on the street in East London.  We soon found this cat had an attitude problem, she did not like other cats, growled a lot, and was not to keen on people either.

She stayed in the cattery until winter was over, and then was allowed out into the garden.  We decided an ideal home for her was a single, understanding person, no other cats or children and being an indoor cat.

Predominately white with black markings, we decided to call her Panda.  She had put a lot of weight on by this time, and was nice in many ways.

A man contacted us, who was very interested in having her, he came to us from Braintree, appeared to be be very nice, very sensible and ideal person.

We told him of her naughty ways, and warned him that she would be difficult but she deserved a good one on one home, he assured us, that he would be delighted to have her BUT we emphasized that he must bring her back if there were any problems.

He phoned us two days later and reported she was fine, she had wacked out at him a couple of times, but he liked the challenge.

We phoned him three weeks later, but the phone number he left us was unattainable!  After a lot of searching we found this man and he had foolishly given Panda to someone else that had several other cats, and children!

Panda then went missing and had not been seen for sometime!

On Sunday the 25th of July, armed with photos and leaflets, Jo and Charlotte (Cat Rescue) went the area where she was last seen.

Jo and Charlotte approached some children that were playing on the street and a boy said  'I have seen that cat in my friends garden. They are on holiday'.

There she was laying under a bush looking very much thinner, Jo and Charlotte called to her, she ran up to them with an 'about time to' expression on her face she had a big cuddle, and lots of kisses!

She is now home again with us, and looking very, very smug.

 The End
